:I was first licensed as WD6DWP in 1977 as a Novice. Later that year I upgraded to General class and then to Advanced Class as KD6SA in 1978. I have enjoyed Amateur Radio over the past 25 years. My current station is an Icom 756 Pro II, feeding a Kenwood TL-922A linear. The antenna is a 134 foot inverted “V” fed with 450 ohm ladder line. I can often be found at 7268.50 in the afternoon ragchewing with WARFA folks and others. I like daytime 40 meters and 75 meters after dark. I also enjoy running portable from my 5th wheel while camping. I retired in 1997 after 31 years of service in engineering as a civilian for the U.S. Navy and now operate my video production business.
The City of Rancho Cucamonga is nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains at about 1500 feet elevation. Rancho Cucamonga was incorporated in 1977 combining the three communities of Etiwanda, Cucamonga and Alta Loma together as Rancho Cucamonga. The former residents of Etiwanda, Cucamonga and Alta Loma still have the option of using their original community name as well.
My XYL's family are long time settlers of Etiwanda since the mid 1800’s. They were table grape growers. I was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to California in 1955.
